new Rotary year has just
begun. A new District Governor
, new district officers,
new club presidents , new
officers , new goals, new
theme, and a lot of new
things for Rotary. New challenges
are ahead of us. We are
here once again to prove
to our community and to
the world that Rotary work
is SERVICE ABOVE
SELF.
One hundred and three years
ago, Paul Harris was only
one man with a dream and
he did not question what
one man could do. He had
a vision in an uncertain
era but look what we have
now. Rotary had grown to
be the biggest service organization
in the world.
As we enter this Rotary
year 2008-2009, let us remember
the quotation -"I
am only one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything,
but I can do something.
What I can do and what I
ought to do by the grace
of God I will do"
Fellow Rotarians the future
of rotary depends on us
- life is not a rehearsal.
We cannot afford to waste
precious time.
Maybe the simplest thing
to do as a Rotarian is going
back to the basics. We must
do our basic duties as Rotarians
in furtherance of the objects
of Rotary.
Let us not forget that as
Rotarians we have the opportunity
or indeed the responsibility
to become an indispensable
part of Rotary's foundation
or groundwork in order to
contribute to the building
of its future. Unfortunately
there are things that we
have been doing that tend
us to believe that doing
so can make ourselves to
be considered as true Rotarians.
