A FAMILY DAY turns a SERVICE DAY for the
ROTARY and INNER WHEEL CLUBS of MEYCAUAYAN UPTOWN

The whole of the good day of September 28, 2008 was one of the most fulfilling days for the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Meycauayan Uptown.

Although it was a Sunday, a supposed Family Day, the members opted to implement six(6) impact service projects:

The day after the Saturday Night Joint Meeting with RC San Ildefonso Midtowm, in that early Sunday morning, sixteen(16) members of the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Meycauayan Uptown assembled at the Waldo Place, the official meeting venue of the Club, and left at exactly 7:30AM to implement the following projects:

*Turnover of Waiting Shed to Calvario Elementary School (MG65277)
*Turnover of Waiting Shed to Barangay Ubihan (MG66574)
*Turnover of ambulance Banca to Barangay Ubihan (MG66574)
*Feeding for 200 malnourished Children
*Organization of RCC of Meycauayan Uptown 11 (Barangay Ubihan)
*Seminar for Mothers in Barangay Ubihan

The group arrived at Calvario Elementary School at exactly 8AM and started the formal turnover of 24ft-Waiting Shed located near the gate of the school and along the busy main street of McArthur Highway. Not only the use of the shed but Rotary Public image is being projected by the project as the logo of Rotary and the name of the club capture the eyes of the public.

After exactly one hour, the group proceeded to Meycauayan Mart riverside to have a 30-minute banca ride to Barangay Island of Ubihan along the famous "Not so Clean Meycauayan River". Upon arrival, after a grueling travel through the river, the group was met by the other seven(7) club members, the Barangay Council Officials headed by Chairman Isaac Deato, and hundreds of beneficiaries which includes children, mothers and residents of the said barangay.

During the food preparation for supplementary feeding of 200 children, the proposed members of the RCC of Meycauayan Uptown 11 were gathered together for further RCC information emceed and started by DGSC Sandie San Diego, then, P-RCC Chair Jayar Sales, PP Louie Paderes, District RCC Chair Zeny Mabagos and PSDG Ruben Mabagos. Also Past Presidents of other RCC's shared their organizations' success stories. The Seminar for Pregnant and Lactating Mothers followed with IWCMU Pres. Brigette Acta as one of the speakers.

After the two informative meetings, feeding of 200 malnourished children, sponsored by Honorary Member Linabelle Ruth Villarica, commenced with nutri-foods, tsamporado and sopas. Because of too much food prepared, everybody including the adults were served. However, for visitors and members of RCC, a sumptuous lunch followed. HM Linabelle also gave clothing to the residents.

After resting for a while, everybody went to the riverside to witness the turnover of AMBULANCE BANCA under Matching Grant No. 66574. President Willie and IWCMU Pres. Brigette Acta lead the turnover to Barangay Chairman Isaac witnessed by D377 Chair Lita Caisido, HM Linabelle and DGSC Sandie. The ambulance then traveled around for 20 minutes to feel the effectiveness of the project.

Another project from MG 66574 was turned over to Bgy. Ubihan Council. This time, it's a sixteen(16) ft. Waiting Shed along the only road connecting Bgy. Ubihan to Bulacan and Obando, Bulacan. Fishermen, commuters and residents of the barangay witnessed the said turnover.

Although it was a tiring day, everybody felt the complete fulfillment - an innermost satisfaction in giving service to the community.
